Terraform is often introduced as a cloud tool, but a provider can wrap any service that has an API. That is why Terraform is described as service-agnostic: the same workflow manages things that are not virtual machines at all. The Terraform Registry lists thousands of providers, covering DNS services, source control platforms, identity providers, monitoring and alerting tools, databases, content delivery networks and more.
