Multi-cloud means using more than one public cloud provider, for example AWS for compute and Google Cloud for analytics. Hybrid cloud means combining public cloud with private or on-premises infrastructure, such as a VMware vSphere cluster in your own data center. Both are common in larger organizations, often for resilience, regulatory reasons, cost or because different teams chose different platforms.
