Terraform's plugin model: one workflow and language (HCL) for many providers

Terraform itself knows nothing about AWS, Azure, GitHub or any particular platform. The core binary understands the language, builds dependency graphs, manages state and runs the plan and apply workflow. Everything platform-specific lives in providers, which are separate plugin programs that Terraform downloads and runs.
