An incident is a stressful, fast-moving situation. Decisions made under pressure are better when the organization has agreed in advance who does what, how decisions are made and how information flows. The incident response plan (IRP) captures those agreements. It is prepared during the preparation phase, approved by senior management and tested regularly.
