NetworkManager stores each connection profile as a file. For many years RHEL used the ifcfg format, shell-style files in /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/. RHEL 10 no longer supports that format: profiles are keyfiles, INI-style text files in /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/, named after the connection with a .nmconnection extension. Older study guides that tell you to edit ifcfg-eth0 do not apply.
