RHEL manages networking with NetworkManager, and nmcli is its command-line interface. NetworkManager separates devices (physical or virtual interfaces such as enp1s0) from connections (saved configuration profiles). A device can have several connection profiles, only one active at a time. Almost every exam network task is: modify or create a connection, then activate it.
