Accurate time matters more than it seems. Logs from different systems must line up during troubleshooting, Kerberos and many TLS (Transport Layer Security) checks fail when clocks drift, and scheduled jobs run at the wrong moment. RHEL keeps time with chrony, an implementation of NTP (Network Time Protocol). The daemon is chronyd, configured in /etc/chrony.conf and queried with chronyc.
