Flatpak is a second way to distribute software on RHEL, aimed mainly at desktop applications. A Flatpak application is packaged together with a runtime, a shared set of libraries it runs on, and it executes in a sandbox that limits what it can access on the host. Because applications bring their own runtime, they can be updated independently of the operating system's RPM packages. The current EX200 objectives include configuring Flatpak repositories and managing Flatpak applications.
