Accurate time sounds like a nicety, but many systems depend on it. Log correlation across servers, scheduled jobs, certificate validation, authentication protocols, distributed databases and backups all break in confusing ways when clocks disagree. Linux+ expects you to configure time synchronization, verify that it is working, and recognize the symptoms of clock skew, which often show up as security or authentication errors rather than obvious time problems.
