The Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) is a framework, not a single method. Within 802.1X, the supplicant and RADIUS server agree on an EAP method that defines how credentials are actually checked. For CWNA, you need to know the most common methods, how they protect credentials and which side needs a certificate.
