That shift lets security teams apply policy more precisely, more consistently and faster, which is central to zero trust, the idea that no traffic is trusted simply because of where it comes from. Because policy lives in software, it can follow a workload when it moves between hosts or clouds, and it can be version-controlled, reviewed and audited like code. The exam expects you to know what each of these technologies does and how it helps limit an attacker's movement.
