Azure Storage always keeps multiple copies of your data so it survives hardware failures, and you decide how widely those copies are spread. Redundancy is a trade-off between cost and the size of failure your data can survive: a failed disk, a lost datacenter or zone, or an entire region going offline. You set the redundancy option on the storage account when you create it, as part of the SKU, for example Standard_LRS or Standard_GZRS, and it applies to all the data in that account.
