Azure Network Watcher is the regional service that provides monitoring, diagnostic and logging tools for resources in Azure virtual networks, such as virtual machines (VMs), VPN gateways and application gateways. It is enabled automatically in each region when you create or update a virtual network there, and appears in the portal as a resource called NetworkWatcher_<region> in a resource group named NetworkWatcherRG. It monitors the network path and configuration, not the application running on your VMs.
