A single virtual machine (VM) will eventually be interrupted, by a hardware failure, a host update or a datacenter problem. Azure gives you two ways to spread several VMs so one event cannot take them all down: availability sets within a datacenter, and availability zones across datacenters in a region. Each comes with a different service level agreement (SLA), the uptime percentage Microsoft commits to for VM connectivity, and the exam expects you to match a requirement to the right option and SLA.
