Strong algorithms are worthless if keys are weak, exposed or lost. Most real-world cryptographic failures are key management failures: keys hard-coded into source code, private keys copied onto shared drives, certificates that expire unnoticed. Key management covers the whole lifecycle of a key, and the exam expects you to know each stage.
