GRUB 2 (GRand Unified Bootloader) is the boot loader on RHEL. It shows the boot menu, loads the chosen kernel and initial RAM disk, and passes the kernel command line. RHEL stores each kernel's menu entry as its own small file in /boot/loader/entries/, following the BLS (Boot Loader Specification). Knowing where settings live tells you which tool changes them.
