Writing a .repo file by hand is only one way to add a repository. The config-manager subcommand, provided by the dnf-plugins-core package that RHEL installs by default, can create the file for you, and two other commands let you check the result and reset dnf's cache. Together they make repository tasks quick to complete and easy to verify.
