Many RHCSA storage tasks are set on disks that already hold data or configuration you must keep. The grader checks both that your new storage works and that the existing partitions, volumes and file systems are intact. The skill here is adding storage non-destructively: using free space, not re-creating anything that exists, and verifying before and after.
