Network+ lists several capabilities you should be able to match to a scenario: network discovery, traffic analysis, performance monitoring, availability monitoring and configuration monitoring. Many commercial and open-source platforms combine all of them in one network monitoring system with dashboards, alerts and reports, but each capability answers a different question, and exam questions are written around those questions.
