Cloud computing means using computing resources, such as servers, storage and networking, that a provider runs and that you consume on demand over a network. The provider pools resources for many customers, lets you scale up and down quickly and usually charges by use. Network+ focuses on how networking works in that world: how virtual networks are built, how traffic gets in and out, how it is filtered, and the vocabulary of service and deployment models. These ideas matter because most organizations now run a mix of on-premises and cloud systems, and the network engineer has to connect them safely.
