Configuration management and infrastructure provisioning are related but different jobs. Configuration management tools keep the software and settings inside existing servers correct. IaC (infrastructure as code) provisioning tools create the servers, networks and cloud resources themselves. Linux+ expects you to know examples of each, how they operate, and which model a scenario describes, so focus on agent versus agentless, push versus pull, and preview versus apply.
