Once a device boots with its factory default, a handful of settings make it identifiable, secure and reachable. Nearly every Junos device you deploy will get the same starter set: a host name, a root password, named user accounts with appropriate login classes, a management interface address and a route so management traffic can get home. These are also the first tasks in most JNCIA labs.
