Sometimes more than one exception happens during the same operation. In try-with-resources this is common: the body throws an exception, and then the automatic close() call also throws. Java cannot throw both at once, so it has to choose one as the primary exception and remember the other. The one it keeps as primary is the exception from the try block. Any exceptions thrown while closing resources are attached to it as suppressed exceptions.
