The Security Fabric ties multiple Fortinet devices into one coordinated system with shared visibility, topology views and automation. At its center is one FortiGate acting as the Fabric root; other FortiGates connect to it as downstream units, forming a tree. The root aggregates information from the whole Fabric and is where you see end-to-end topology and run Fabric-wide checks.
