MIMO stands for multiple-input, multiple-output. Introduced to Wi-Fi with 802.11n, it uses several antennas and radio chains on both sides of a link to increase speed and reliability. Every enterprise AP and most clients today are MIMO devices, so you need to understand its parts and the notation vendors use.
