A Pod is the smallest deployable unit in Kubernetes: one or more containers that share a network namespace and can share volumes. You rarely create Pods directly in production, because a bare Pod is not replaced if it is deleted or its node fails. Instead you create a workload controller, which holds a Pod template and continually works to make reality match what you asked for. Choosing the right controller is a core CKAD skill.
