Logging records events; monitoring watches them for meaning. Together they are how a security operations center (SOC) detects attacks, supports investigations and demonstrates accountability. Without logs you cannot reconstruct what happened, and without monitoring, logs are just storage costs. The exam expects you to know the tools that make this work at scale, how they fit together, and the difference between waiting for an alert and actively looking for trouble.
