Not every investigation is the same. The type determines who runs it, what standard of proof applies, how carefully evidence must be handled and what the outcome can be. The exam expects you to match a scenario to the right investigation type, to know which one demands the most rigor, and to recognize that an investigation can change type as facts emerge. An internal policy review can become a criminal case the moment you find evidence of fraud.
