Moving to a new system usually means moving data and often infrastructure too, for example from on-premises servers to a cloud platform. It is one of the riskiest moments in a system's life. Migrations fail when data is lost, altered, duplicated or mismapped on the way across, or when the new environment goes live without the security configuration the old one had. For a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), the questions are simple to state: is the data in the new system complete and accurate, and is the new environment at least as well controlled as the one it replaces?
