Enterprise architecture (EA) is the blueprint of how an organization's business processes, information, applications and technology fit together, both today and in the target future state. It helps leaders see duplication, gaps and dependencies so that investments move the organization toward a coherent design instead of adding disconnected systems one project at a time. Enterprise risk management (ERM) is the organization-wide discipline for understanding and handling the risks to its objectives. The two meet because architecture decisions create or reduce risk, and risk priorities should shape architecture.
