Once a network has more than a handful of access points (APs), managing each one separately becomes painful: channels, power, SSIDs (service set identifiers) and security must stay consistent, and clients must roam smoothly. Cisco wireless architectures answer the question of where the intelligence and configuration live. The CCNA compares three: autonomous, lightweight with a controller, and cloud-managed, and it tests the AP modes and the switch-port configuration each one needs. The right choice depends on the number of APs, the number of sites and where you want client traffic to flow.
