Anyone who gains administrative access to a router or switch controls the network. Securing management access means encrypting remote sessions, protecting privileged mode with a strong password, restricting who can even attempt a login, and showing a legal warning. These are some of the most commonly configured items in CCNA labs, and a missing step usually means SSH silently does not work.
