You can manage Azure through several tools. They all send requests to the same place, Azure Resource Manager, so whatever you create with one tool can be viewed and managed with any other, and the same RBAC permissions, policies and locks apply. The choice depends on the task, on whether you need to repeat it, and on which language you are comfortable with. The exam expects you to know what each tool is and to recognize a command from each. The Azure portal is a web-based, unified console. You sign in from a browser and create, configure and monitor resources through menus, forms and blades; build and share custom dashboards; and view costs, alerts and health. It is ideal for learning, exploring, one-off tasks and seeing things visually, and it has good accessibility features. It is less suited to repeating a task many times, because clicking through forms by hand is slow and easy to get slightly wrong each time. Microsoft also offers the Azure mobile app for monitoring resources, checking alerts and running quick actions from a phone.
