Azure App Service hosts web apps, REST APIs and mobile back ends without you managing servers, patching operating systems or configuring load balancers. Every app runs in an App Service plan, which defines the compute resources: region, operating system (Windows or Linux), pricing tier, instance size and number of instances. All apps in the same plan share those instances, so a busy app can slow its neighbours, and you pay for the plan whether one app or ten run on it. Understanding the plan is the key to cost, performance and feature questions.
