All Amazon S3 storage classes are designed for the same very high durability, eleven nines (99.999999999 percent), but the One Zone classes keep data in a single Availability Zone (AZ) and so can lose data if that AZ is destroyed. What differs between classes is availability, retrieval speed, minimum storage duration, minimum billable object size, retrieval fees and storage price. Picking the class that fits the access pattern is one of the most common cost questions on the exam, and the answer always comes from how often and how fast the data must be read.
