The AWS Free Tier lets you explore and learn many AWS services without paying, within set limits. It is how most people do their first labs, and understanding its rules is the best protection against a surprise bill. The single most important idea for the exam is that the Free Tier is an allowance, not a spending cap: usage outside it is billed at normal rates unless you have specifically chosen an account plan that stops at the free limit.
