Environmental controls protect three things: people, equipment and the wider environment. Technicians handle hazardous materials such as toner and batteries, dispose of electronic waste that is often regulated by law, and keep equipment running in safe conditions with clean power. The exam expects you to know where to find handling information, how to dispose of common IT waste, what conditions equipment needs, and which power protection device fits which problem.
