Monitors are one of the most visible parts of a computer, and users notice every flaw. To recommend and support displays you need to know the panel technologies and the specifications that describe them. The A+ exam typically gives a user's priority, such as accurate color for photo editing or fast motion for gaming, and asks which panel type or specification matters, or it gives a symptom such as fuzzy text and asks for the fix.
