Terraform configurations are built mostly from two kinds of blocks that come from providers. A resource block declares an infrastructure object that Terraform manages: it creates it, updates it when the arguments change, and destroys it when the block is removed. A data block declares a data source: a read-only query for information about something that already exists, which Terraform reads but never creates, changes or destroys.
