Terraform includes a library of built-in functions that you call inside expressions with the syntax name(arg1, arg2). You cannot write your own functions in the Terraform language; you use the built-in ones, plus any functions a provider supplies, called with the provider::NAME::FUNCTION(...) syntax. The exam expects you to recognize common functions by category and to know how to experiment with them.
