Logical controls are useless if someone can walk in and carry out a server or plug a device into an open network port. Physical security protects people, facilities and equipment, and the SSCP practitioner is often responsible for operating these controls day to day. Life safety always comes first: physical controls must never trap people during a fire or emergency.
