RAID (redundant array of independent disks) combines several drives into one logical volume to improve performance, fault tolerance or both. Server+ expects you to calculate usable capacity, know how many failures each level survives, and understand why some levels write more slowly. Remember that RAID is not a backup: it protects against drive failure, not deletion, corruption or ransomware.
