People are part of every security system, and attackers target them because it is often easier to trick a person than to break a technical control. Security awareness programs teach people to recognize threats, follow policy and report problems quickly. The aim is not to turn everyone into security experts but to change behavior: pause before clicking, verify unusual requests, protect data and report anything suspicious.
