Not every computer looks like a laptop or server. Industrial control systems, smart devices and embedded computers run power grids, factories, hospitals, buildings and cars. They are often built for reliability and long life rather than security, and many cannot easily be patched or monitored. Security+ expects you to know what these systems are, why they are hard to secure, and which mitigations work when the usual controls cannot be applied. The stakes are high because attacks on these systems can cause physical harm, not only data loss.
