Single sign-on lets users sign in, but many SaaS apps also need an account to exist in the app first. Creating and deleting those accounts by hand is slow and leaves orphaned accounts when people leave. Automatic user provisioning in Microsoft Entra ID creates, updates and disables accounts in the app based on who is assigned to it, and it's a key part of identity lifecycle management.
