IT projects rarely deliver everything with internal staff. Hardware, software, cloud services and specialist skills are bought from vendors, so project managers regularly handle vendor documents. You are not expected to be a lawyer; legal and procurement teams draft and approve contracts. But you do need to know what each document does, when it is used and which one fits a situation, because using the wrong one can leave the organization unprotected.
