Dir() to list the names a module defines

The built-in function dir() lets you look inside a module, object or class and see which names it holds. It returns a sorted list of strings. It is a discovery tool: when you import a module you have never used, dir() shows you what it offers without opening documentation, and in the exam it is how questions check whether you understand which names an import created.
