Transmission media are the physical paths that carry signals: copper cables carrying electrical signals, fibre carrying light, and the air carrying radio. Choosing the right medium depends on distance, speed, cost, interference and the building environment. Many real-world problems, and many exam questions, come down to the wrong cable, the wrong connector or a mismatched transceiver, so it pays to know the options and their limits.
