Some devices and users should never share a flat network with your critical systems. Internet of Things gadgets, industrial controllers, guests and personal devices each bring different risks, and segmentation lets you connect them while containing those risks. Network+ asks you to recognise these groups, understand why each is risky, and choose the controls that separate them. The underlying idea is least privilege at the network level: every group gets exactly the connectivity it needs and nothing more.
