Cryptography is the main technical tool for protecting confidentiality and integrity of data, whether it is stored (data at rest), moving across a network (data in transit) or being processed (data in use). The CC exam focuses on the concepts: symmetric encryption, asymmetric encryption and hashing, and when to use each.
